House Rules

This is a non-smoking house.

The house is really not set up to accommodate animals, so we ask that you leave your pets at home.

As you can see, this is our second home, and we leave our belongings and personal effects in the house. As our guests, you are welcome to use what you find and to make yourself at home. We do ask that you respect our home, belongings, and the area, and treat this with the same care as if it were your own home. As our friends, we trust your judgment to make the right decisions.

What to bring.

  • Clothing appropriate to the season.
  • Groceries and favorite snacks
  • A book or two (we do have a library of books in case you forget yours)
  • Sturdy shoes for hiking
  • Sunscreen
  • Fishing gear
  • In the winter months, be sure to bring tire chains.

Miscellaneous

There are a few things that you will need to do when you arrive at the house, like putting up the table umbrella, hanging the hammocks and if you intend to use it, moving the barbeque to the porch. If you arrive in the wintertime, it will take about 1/2 hour to heat the house once the thermostat has been reset. You may even want to start a fire in the pellet stove.

The beds are made and the linen is out for you. During your stay, we ask that you store any accumulated trash and garbage in the locked shed.

A cleaning service will wash the linens and clean the house after you leave. We do ask that you wash and put away all of your dishes, put away everything you have used, and clean up any messes you have caused. You will need to take any food you have brought with you. A detailed departure checklist is posted on the refrigerator.

We have tried to anticipate and provide for unexpected events, but even the best plans sometimes don't work out. If you encounter any problems during your stay, please call us.
